Love the Power of Food:
Turmeric
This beautiful golden spice has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine as a natural anti-inflammatory. Curcumin, which causes the yellow pigment of turmeric, is the component responsible for this beneficial health promoting effect. Adding a touch of back pepper with turmeric increases its bioavailability. And consuming turmeric with fats or oils such as those found in nuts or seeds (almonds, coconuts or hemp seeds) help our bodies absorb turmeric. Studies are also showing a powerful antioxidant effect turmeric has against free radical damage which may help prevent the development of some cancers, although more research in this area needs to be done.
