Ingredients:
2 cups coconut milk or almond milk or another non-dairy milk (or homemade plant milk - see recipes under drinks)
1 1/2 tbsp hemp seeds
6 hazelnuts or almonds (optional)
1 1/2 tbsp pure cocoa powder, no sugar added
2-3 dates, pits removed
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp matcha powder (optional)
In a small pot add coconut or almond milk and bring to a gentle boil over med-high heat to about ~70-80C deg (use a food thermometer if you have one). In a high powered blender* add hot milk, hemp seeds, nuts(optional), cocoa powder, dates and cinnamon. Blend on high until smooth and frothy. If adding matcha powder (optional), take the temperature of the liquid with a food thermometer again and make sure it is no higher than 70 deg C. Add matcha powder to liquid in blender and blend on high for another 20-30 seconds. Pour into your favourite mug, sprinkle with a touch of cinnamon (optional) and slowly enjoy this deliciously creamy treat!
*To get a lovely creamy texture its is best to use a high powered blender like a Vitamix or Ninja Blender.

Love the Power of Food:
Cocoa Powder
The cocoa bean has long been recognized for its high levels of antioxidants. The flavonoids found in this 'magical' powder has been shown through research to have a very positive effect on cardiovascular health by helping balance blood cholesterol levels and also act in a similar way to aspirin by reducing unhealthy 'clumping' of platelets.
