Ingredients:
1 cup almonds
1 cup hazelnuts
1 cup pecans
1 cup nut butter
1 1/2 cups pitted dates, cut in halves & pre-soak in warm water ~ 5 minutes, then drain water
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup buckwheat
1/3-1/2 cup almond milk
2 tbsp maca powder
2 tbsp moringa powder
In a food processor add almonds, hazelnuts and pecans and blend until coarsely processed. Add soaked pitted dates and process until well combined and somewhat sticking together. In a large bowl add nut butter, maple syrup and almond milk. Stir well until combined. Add nut and date mixture, pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, buckwheat, moringa powder and maca powder and stir until well combined. If dough is too dry to stick together add a bit more almond milk gradually until mixture sticks together if you try to make a ball. Pour into 10x10 baking tray lined with parchment paper. Press down dough firmly. Place in middle of oven and bake for about 30-40 minutes or until edges are looking golden brown. Allow to cool, then tip tray upside down to remove. Cut into desired size bars and individually wrap with parchment or wax paper (I use a small piece of tape to keep the bar wrapped tightly). Store bars in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer for up to 8 weeks. Enjoy!!!! : )

Maca powder
Maca, part of the cruciferous family, is a plant found in the Peruvian Andes and has been used for its medicinal properties for hundreds of years. It has been shown to improve physical energy, and assist in muscle mass building. Maca has been used to help rebalance hormones linked to menopause symptoms, mood dysfunctions, and sexual dysfunction such as decreased libido. Improved memory, mental energy and focus has been linked to a diet including maca. Although more research still needs to be done regarding its perceived health benefits, this plant can be a nice addition to your diet. This plant, usually in a powder, is rich in Vitamin B1, B2, C, and E, calcium, magnesium, copper, iron, zinc, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and selenium. This health boosting plant also contains 8 essential amino acids making it a great protein source.
As with any super food eating it on a daily basis is not recommended, and eating it in small amounts is all that is needed (if adding it to a single serving use max. 1 table spoon per day).
*Not recommended for people with thyroid issues, have hormone related cancers, or are pregnant or trying to become pregnant.*
