Raw chocolate bliss brownie recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup pecans

1 cup almond flour or almond meal (plus 1/4 cup if dough seems too sticky)

1/3 cup cocoa powder

1 1/2 tsp vanilla

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 tbsp cocoa nibs

In a food processor process pecans until finely ground. Add almond flour or meal and blend until well combined. Add cocoa powder and blend until combined. Add vanilla and maple syrup and blend until well combined and a dough forms. If the dough seems to stick to your fingers easily add another 1/4 cup more almond flour or meal and blend until combined. Pour dough into a bread loaf tin lined with parchment paper, press dough down evenly and firmly and then sprinkle with cocoa nibs pressing the nibs into the dough.

Place in fridge or freezer for about 1 hour. Remove and cut into squares.

Enjoy!

Store in fridge or freezer in airtight container for up to 2 months.

Love the Power of Food:

Cocoa

This magical bean is very rich in flavonoids, powerful antioxidants. These compounds absorbances is dramatically increased when consumed through the cocoa bean or its other forms such as cocoa powder or cocoa nibs. Cardiovascular health has been show to have positive effects from the consumption of cocoa. It is important to keep in mind that pure cocoa will have the highest level of these antioxidants and health promoting properties. Milk chocolate has much less cocoa and more fat and sugar. I would not classify milk chocolate as health promoting. Dark chocolate bars are a better choice especially the ones with a high percentage (70% + cocoa) on the label and low sugar content.
